It tightens and loosens as it should. The body of the viola has quite a few nicks and scratches, but does not have any cracks or separations. The pegs turn easily and hold the instrument in tune as it is being played. The latches work well.
Its installed with new basic strings. The Glasser bow is in very good used condition. The hard case is also in obviously used condition with normal signs of use such as scratches and white marks. There are 4 built-in fine tuners on the tailpiece to make tuning easier.
It would be great for a student. Please see pictures. This 1997 13 Glaesel viola is in good, used condition with some cosmetic wear. My daughter tested this viola and found that it plays as should.
The fingerboard is secure and the sound post in place.
